Blue Flamingo Cafe & Community Hub is a place to meet new people and catch up with old friends for a chat & brew in dementia-friendly space. We run sessions in three locations across Preston:Ashton, Fulwood and Penwortham.

Our 'no barrier to entry' ethos means we don't charge for our sessions (although donations are always welcome)

and there is no need to book in advance.

All are welcome to join our sessions.

Our sessions are open to everyone in the community, regardless of age or background.

Whether you're a carer, someone living with dementia, or simply looking to socialize, you are welcome to join us.

There is no need to register or book in advance for our sessions. You can simply show up at any of our locations during

our scheduled times and join in the activities and socialising.

There are currently over 113,000 unpaid carers and over 11,000 people in Lancashire who are living with dementia.

The majority of carers are over 65 and feel socially isolated. Caring for someone who has dementia is both daunting and burdensome.

It's common for carers - and indeed those living with dementia (especially those living alone) - to feel incredibly lonely.

By providing a welcome and inclusive space which caters to the unique needs of these individuals, Blue Flamingo Community Hub

is well-poised to connect people to appropriate support whilst promoting wellbeing and improving mental health.

We use creativity, games and music as tools to help connect people.

Meet our Team

We are a fun bunch who love helping others. That's why we've all joined the Blue Flamingo Family. Each of us bring something special to our sessions, but what unites us is our big hearts and welcoming smiles. We couldn't do what we do without our volunteers and love them for their willingness to get involved and join in our silliness!
